superior stance of attacking the entire Seattle press and the Gay community with derisive epithets such as "sissy" and "pansy.
I think that at the very least, an apology to the Gay community is in order here. And if the Seattle press "old school" backroom boys want to question each other's virility, they should save it for the locker room that is, if such a locker room still exists!

Greetings Seattle
You have been my city for an entire year. It's been a most wonderful experience. As we come closer to the end of our reign, we would like to thank each and every one of you for your love and support.
As November approaches, the thought of succession come to mind. When the Miss Gay Seattle title was first started the Emerald City Business Guild was the steering body, behind what we now call the Seattle court system.
This year we thought we would revert to a few years ago, and ask that bar and restaurant owners choose or pick a person or persons to represent your establishment as a candidate for one of the titles of Mr., Miss or Ms. Gay Seattle.
The requirements are tough. We want strong people who aren't afraid to work, and work hard!
Your input at this time is valued and with
your help the next hosts of our city will be willing to work for us.
Thank you again, Miss Gay Seattle 24 Miss Valerie Doll Call: 322-2206
Discrimination in the Oregon State Penitentiary
We the (Gay) people of the Oregon State Penitentiary are writing this letter in hopes to elicit some type of response to the discrimination that is currently and has been going on for years here. We are told that we live in a progressive society, concerning Gay rights, but apparently, once you enter those prison walls the progressiveness stops. We believe it is time for change to do something that will benefit the Gay community inside these walls and the community outside.
We have for too long been subjected to indignities and discrimination by the staff and prisoners alike, it is time that we stop being treated as second, third and fourth class citizens. Until we can unify and get support and direction in our lives, it will continue to be so. What we are asking is a Gay club by and for Gay people, but any and all people would be welcome (race, creed, color, etc.). The club that we would like to get started here would deal with any and all issues that are prevalent in todays
society.
LETTERS Anything & Everything in Diamonds.
We currently have a lawsuit in the courts, because we have been denied a club on numerous occasions, not enough staff, not enough room, security risk, just to name a few. We feel it is time for this hypocrisy to end. If this administration will allow clubs from Bridge to chess to athletic clubs, why we ask, will they not allow a Gay club? If this letter gets published, and there are any responses, please write to these people:
Governor Neil Goldschmidt, State Capitol Bldg., Salem, OR 97301;
Secretary of State Barbara Roberts, State Capitol Bldg., Salem, OR 97301;
Nicky Armenakis, Associate Warden, Head of Security, 2605 State St., Salem, OR 97310;
Michael Francke, Head of Corrections, 2605 State St., Salem, OR 97310;
Monfred (Fred) Maass, Warden, 2605 State St., Salem, OR 97310.
The more support and help that we get from the outside people the more this backward administration will realize it is time for a change, and quit treating us proud Gay people of being like second class citizens.
Stay strong,
